Pillar Welding and Machine started up in January of 2003 and was operated out the acreage shop north of Saskatoon. In the beginning we were building weld fixtures for an Ag manufacturer also some manufacturing support items for CNH Saskatoon as well as some repairs. During this time we were contacted about developing a new seeding tool, and so we start with the R&D work on what would be the new Barton disc/hoe opener. In the spring of 2005 the current partnership was started and on July 1 of 2005 Pillar Lasers Inc. was incorporated and we purchased a 4KW Mazak laser with a load unload automation system as well as a 200 ton cnc break press which were installed in our current location in Warman Sk. We operated for the first two years in the two locations with the welding a machine our on the acreage and the laser and break press in Warman. In January of 2008 we purchased the land and building in Warman and moved all of our operation into Warman.
In 2008 we were issue a Canadian Patent on the disc/hoe opener and have started manufacturing them. We continue to build weld fixture as well as many different manufacturing support items and some custom manufacturing for different customers.
